Our family lost a very special member on October 1, 2009. Ethan was only a week shy of being 6 months old when he was found dead in his car seat. We lost our Ethan to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
Our Ethan was born on April 8, 2009. His life was such a wonderful one. Even at only five months old, we knew Ethan. He was bright. He was funny. He loved to laugh. He had a great sense of humor. Ethan was also very stubborn. He liked things his way and there was no other way. Ethan loved to stand up and jump. He was very strong even in the first month of life. He didn't like to cuddle or be held close. He was very independent.
When we lost Ethan our entire world shattered. He was our baby and so precious to us. We lived in a daze for several days after his death. We had no idea what to do when we left his funeral. Where did we go and what did we do?
After much consideration, we are planning to start our own non-profit for Ethan. We decided the best way to grieve for Ethan is to help others. We want to help fund research, education, and awareness. We never want another family to feel the loss that our family feels every day.
